VS Code Commands

Open the command palette (Ctrl+Shift+P or ⌘+Shift+P) and type "IdeaLift" to see all available commands:

IdeaLift: Capture Idea

Capture selected text as a new idea

IdeaLift: Scan TODOs in Workspace

Find all TODO, FIXME, HACK, IDEA comments in your workspace

IdeaLift: Scan TODOs in Current File

Find TODO comments in the currently open file

IdeaLift: Configure API Key

Set up your IdeaLift API key for syncing

Refresh the ideas list in the sidebar

Chrome Extension

The Chrome extension supports standard browser shortcuts plus quick capture.

Configure Custom Shortcut

You can set a custom keyboard shortcut to open the IdeaLift popup:

  1. 1.Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts
  2. 2.Find "IdeaLift" in the list
  3. 3.Click the pencil icon next to "Activate the extension"
  4. 4.Press your desired key combination (e.g., Alt+I)

Customizing Shortcuts

VS Code

Customize keyboard shortcuts in VS Code settings:

  1. 1.Open Keyboard Shortcuts: Ctrl+K Ctrl+S (or ⌘K ⌘S on Mac)
  2. 2.Search for "idealift"
  3. 3.Click the pencil icon next to any command to change its keybinding

Chrome Extension

Set a custom shortcut in Chrome:

  1. 1.Navigate to chrome://extensions/shortcuts
  2. 2.Find IdeaLift and set your preferred shortcut
